Series A: THOMAS COKE KNIGHT RCA PHOTOGRAPHS, ca. 1902-1950 (Boxes 405-434)

Thomas Coke Knight was an independent photographer located at 128 Lexington Avenue, New York City. He was RCA's first photographer. These photographs are arranged by the following subject headings as Subseries: Wireless, Early Radio, Broadcasting, Radiolas (2), Loudspeakers, Radio Components (alphabetical), Marketing Radio, Shore Stations, Research and Manufacturing, Innovations after 1920, Exhibitions, Portraits (2), Miscellaneous and Unidentified, and Diagrams. There are extensive finding aids down to the item level for these photographs. See box and folder list in repository. Series 3, box 6 of the main collection contains Knight's original photographic lists.
Series B: GEORGE H. CLARK COLLECTION OF PHOTOGRAPHS BY CLASS (Boxes 435-448)

This series consists of photographs removed from the main body of the Clark Radioana Collection by the Division of Electricity, NMAH, for eventual microfilming. They are filed by the "class" or series from which they were removed. They have Clark's Navy filing system number on them. Not all series are represented. See box and folder list in repository.

These photographs consists of unorganized and in many cases, duplicate images, from the above two series. This series consists of patent material and related correspondence concerning various cases that this firm handled. Of particular note are cases involving Lee De Forest and Charles Francis Jenkins. Samuel E. Darby was De Forest's patent attorney, who together with James Dunlop Smith formed the De Forest Radio Telephone Co. (1907). (See folder list in repository).

This series includes the Official Personnel Folders (OPF) from the U. S. Office of Personnel Management, Records Appraisal and Disposition Division (NIR), for several former Federal employees who worked on the development of radio: Reginald Aubrey Fessenden, Willis Luther Moore, George H. Clark, Alfred Thiessen, Louis A. Gebhard, Julius Martin, Wendell L. Carlson, Glenn W. Carpenter, Harry J. Lang, Alfred M. Trogner, Guy Hill, and Alfred Crossley. These files were obtained by Robert S. Harding from NIR in 1987.
