Miscellaneous letters and other documents relating to businesses in the Chicago (Ill.) area. Includes items related to private loans and legal matters as well. Some illustrated letterheads show buildings or products of the companies. Includes form for the right to sell rights granted under a patent for bag holders, 1868.

Includes two letters to James M. Carlisle, Washington, D.C., from Samuel N. Fuller, 1862; letter to Artemas Hale from Samuel Hale re. Hale family and "Santa Claus" 1868; six letters from W.H. Gleason to his father Josiah Gleason, Wardsboro, Vt. 1869-1872 with envelopes.
