SUMMARY:
In 1937, Tupper went to work for DuPont. He left after a year to strike out on his own and in 1938, formed the Earl S. Tupper Company. His company advertised the design and engineering of industrial plastic products. The collection contains five series: personal papers, early business papers and scientific notes, Tupper Corporation/Tupperware Business Records, Osterweil Oral Histories and Research Files, and the Center for Advertising History Oral History Interviews. The personal papers contain correspondence and a family scrapbook. The business papers and scientific notes highlight the business ventures and scientific endeavors in which Tupper was involved. Of particular interest are Tupper’s invention diaries and sketch books.
