David F. Waugh developed a quick and accurate test for active insulin and a method of synthesis which increased insulin production. Waugh’s teaching activities are documented in course notes for classes he taught at MIT; his research is recorded in a sequence of laboratory notebooks; grant reports and correspondence about the licensing of his patents for water soluble casein, methods for preparing insulin, and collagen particles.
